Dogs of the Dow Stock Picking System
Overview
The "Dogs of the Dow" strategy is a trading system that
buys beaten up Dow Jones Industrial 30 stocks. Each Dow
stock is ranked on an annual basis by dividend yield, and
stocks ranked #2 thru #5 are invested in with the stock
in position #2 getting a double weighting.
Commentary
With the addition of Microsoft, Intel, and Home Depot in
late 1999, three large cap growth stocks with little dividends,
the Dow lost a considerable percentage of high-yielding
stocks. As a result, Doh.com believes that the "Dogs
of the Dow" strategy may no longer be a viable investing
strategy for its followers. As of 01/01/2001, Doh.com
no longer tracks the system.
